These regions have tremendous mission sending potential to help bring the gospel to unreached peoples, but they currently send only 20% of the world’s cross-cultural missionaries!

Project Outcome

Our focus is to partner with local churches to help them live on mission locally and to send missionaries globally. The Kenyan Church is growing rapidly and is in a strategic location to reach the unreached. We desire to see the Kenyan Church making an impact for God's Kingdom within Kenya and around the world.

Why this Matters

Kenya is one of the most Christian nations in the world, yet they send only 0.001% of their believers as missionaries. Furthermore, Kenya is surrounded by many unreached peoples, including many within its own borders, who will live their lives having never heard the name of Jesus. 85-90% of pastors and church leaders across Africa do not have the biblical and theological training that they need to effectively lead and disciple their congregations. We believe that we can help meet the need for theological training in the area of missions for pastors and leaders and this will also help to mobilize more Kenyan missionaries to unreached people. There are 3 billion people who are considered unreached to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kenyan Church has the potential to reach millions of these people.

Project Details

$12,000 Nairobi City Team Fund:&nbsp;For general ministry, travel, &amp; church partnership. This includes team health and development, printing resources, networking, our student leadership team, internship program, etc.
$2,000 Support Raising Initiatives: Support raising is the biggest barrier to sending Kenyans to the mission field. Our initiatives such as the Support Raising Bootcamp to equip missionaries with biblical and effective ways to raise full support for their ministry and Generous Church Training to train and equip pastors and leaders to lead their churches to be generous with their time, money, and resources.&nbsp;
$2,000 Recruiting &amp; Growth: The Kenyan church is growing rapidly with almost 25 million evangelicals. Our team envisions having 3 teams located in 3 strategic cities in Kenya. These three cities are Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu. Our Nairobi team is doing well but there is plenty of mobilization that can happen in the other 2 cities. To do this, we need to recruit and grow Via Nairobi national staff throughout the country.
$3,000 Mobilization Trainings:&nbsp;Our team is being invited constantly by churches across Kenya to train pastors and leaders in mobilization and missions. These are 3 to 4 day trainings using our key resource, Explore, to equip pastors and leaders to mobilize their churches towards the unreached.
$5,000 Annual Kenya Mission Mobilization Summit:&nbsp;This is an annual conference that gathers pastors and church leaders from across Kenya to train and equip them in missions and how the churches they lead can be more equipped and involved in taking the good news of Jesus Christ to all nations. &nbsp;There is great potential for the Kenyan church to be leading the charge in taking the gospel to places that desperately need it yet many churches across Kenya do not have a right understanding of the mission of the church. Budget needs include the venue, transportation, and accommodation for the team, pastors and leaders, and the conference itself.
